Can’t find books at your school library?
Borrow or swap with classmates for free — save money, skip the bookstore, and build a smarter campus community.
About Us
BookByBook was created by Yashve Gopinath, a passionate 4th grader who loves to read. The idea for this website started when she was in 3rd grade, working on her app invention project. As an enthusiastic reader, Yashve often felt disappointed when she couldn’t find certain books in her local library. Instead of giving up, she turned her frustration into inspiration and decided to build a platform to help other young readers discover and track books more easily.
Yashve’s journey was made possible with the support of her class teacher, Ms. Akbar, who helped share her idea with the principal, Dr. Ventura. With Dr. Ventura’s encouragement and belief in her vision, Yashve was able to turn her classroom project into a real website.
At BookByBook, we believe no student should struggle to find the books they need. Our platform connects you with classmates and peers to borrow, lend, or exchange textbooks and novels for free — making education more accessible, sustainable, and community-driven.
Why We Exist
School libraries can’t stock every book, and buying new textbooks is expensive. We solve both problems by empowering students to:
Share resources with peers in their school
Save money by avoiding costly purchases
Reduce waste through reuse of physical books
How It Works
List Your Books: Upload titles you’re willing to lend.
Search & Request: Find books you need from classmates.
Exchange Freely: Coordinate pickups/drop-offs on campus.
